Bad service for 21st birthday

We had booked a 21st party at this restaurant and they had promised to provide lighting which was absolutely dismal, speakers could not read the speeches and had to use cellphone flash lights to have enough light. The power then went out at 10:30 pm when and they left us in the dark and did not even apologise and were very rude when we went and complained and Jonty passed a comment passed a comment "if it hails we can't help it".
They would did not give us any compensation either.
To my understanding if you are going to host events at night in this day and age you should have a back up generator.
