Very Disappointed

I have been going to Kitima Restaurant in Hout Bay for a good few years now and up until the last two times have found the food, service and atmosphere to be excellent. I have always regarded the restaurant to be the best of its kind in Cape Town, upholding incredibly high standards in every aspect and regularly recommend it to friends.

However on my second last visit about 6 months ago, the food was up to the usual excellent standard but the service was certainly not. The waiter was very disinterested and also made us wait a long time for drinks, didn't pour wine, etc. I put this down to an unlucky experience. Everyone has bad days and I just assumed our waiter was having one.

My last visit (Thursday 24th October) I took my fiance and step brother with me excited to show them both an excellent dining experience. After being seated by the friendly front-of-house nobody came to our table to offer us drinks for at least 10 minutes. Normally very reasonable for the quality, I was also disappointed to notice the food prices had increased by about 30% - a significant amount over the time period. This time the service was so bad that I was left feeling reluctant to even leave a tip!
