Snoekies Fish & Chips
Huge disappointment in Snoekies food

We purchased a hake parcel & portion of calamari on our way home. It was quite late & we rushed home to have dinner. We shared the fish. It did smell a bit. When we opened the calamari, it was overcooked and rubbery. We were totally appalled by the presentation of the fish & calamari but as it was late & had no food prepared, we ate what we could digest and threw the rest away. We had not even managed to complete our meal when we started feeling ill The oil seemed overused. We immediately phoned the no in the phone book & rung a few times & left a message. We were so disgusted in what we ate, it felt only right to let the manager know. My mum had awoken in the night & had to take antiacid tabs. The following day, we visited the store and spoke to the manager who explained that he had to be honest, their fish was not fresh as it was difficult to locate fresh fish in Cape Town & confessed that the calamari did usually look like that. As we had only brought back what we salvaged, we were only entitled to half the price of the calamari in the form of a voucher! Now, why would we want torture ourselves again? Apparently their phone no is listed incorrectly and got no message.
