My in laws were visiting from another country so my husband and I wanted to take them to our favourite restaurant, Lord Prawn. After another delicious meal, we paid the bill, but the transaction didn't seem to be showing on the card machine, however we'd received an SMS confirmation from the bank that it had been paid. The manager came over to sort it out and asked us to pay again. When we were hesitant to pay a second time he started getting very rude saying that he would be out of pocket. We tried to show the SMS confirmation, but he refused to look at it and insisted we pay again. As regular customers, very familiar to the manager, we assured him we'd return to pay if in 2 days it still wasn't showing. We gave our details, but he refused to take it and stormed out the restaurant. This was embarrassing and we felt we needed to explain to our folks that he's not usually like this. It turned out the payment didn't go through, so we returned and paid the bill. Word spreads and all I'm saying is that the manager received his bill (including a good tip), but he lost more than 2 regular customers.
