Koi Restaurant
A less than average experience

I am someone that enjoys fine dining. I am happy to put my hand in my pocket when i have had a fantastic foodie experience. It really me off though, when i decide to spoil myself and go to Koi in Sandton with friends, and pay that much more than an average Joburg restaurant, only to experience the following:

1. A sultry waiter who did not thank us for the tip he received (clearly it was less than he is accustomed to at this allegedly "fine dining" establishment).

2. A less than average selection of wines.

3. I ordered a thai green curry with "Prawns". "Large shrimps" or "Prawns (baby)" would have been more accurate and less misleading than "Prawns". To add insult to injury, there were only about 5 of these "large shrimps" in my bowl of thai green curry sauce... oh and the occasional carrot. I explained my dissatisfaction to the Manager who felt he would rather argue with me than accept that his "Prawns" symbolised "evening " in a plate to me.

I will not return to Koi.
