The Toad
Nice surprise to have GOOD service!

Hello,
I live in Cape Town and use to frequent The Toad in Noordhoek. I was thrilled to hear that they had branched out and decided to open up at the Old Josephine Mill in Newlands. I have been to The Toad at the Mill twice and the first time I went I was greeted with such fabulous service. My second experience was last night (5/06/2013) and I was greeted at the door with a smile, this is almost unheard of nowadays in CPT. To my disappointment the restaurant was holding a rugby function of sorts but that did not stop management from arranging me a table upstairs where we quietly enjoyed the service and a nice bottle of wine, again unheard of in CPT. Both myself and my friend ordered steaks. My friends steak was done to perfection but mine was overcooked for med-rare. I asked the barman if he could call a manager and promptly my meal was replaced with a perfectly med-rare steak. NO MESS NO FUSS! I even got one-on-one service from the manager explaining the delay. I was delighted and so surprised. Thank you to the Management and Staff for such great service!
