CTFM bad value for money

We had the misfortune to dine at Cape Town Fish Market Sandton City this evening. Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday evening. The waitress, Victoria was adequate but the food was a long time coming despite being so empty. First problem, the spinach ordered by one diner on the side was raw and inedible. The portions for the main dishes were pathetically inadequate. 3 of us ordered the baby squid, we all got starter portions at best, if you don't have enough to go round, say so, don't divide one portion into three.

It was when the bill came that the most serious problems raised their heads. Firstly a 10 % service fee was added without us being informed. We always tip more than that, but not tonight, the "manager" told us that in the small print on the menu it says that this is automatically added to tables of 10 or more (we were 8), so he didn't know his own rules. Secondly they were offline so the birthday discount we were entitled to did not reflect. We had to bring this to Mgt attention. CTFM do not draw your attention to extra charges or faults in their system. They tried to r! p us off in both areas, no telling us about the extra 10% or their system probs. food & croeks!
