Billed after cancellation & Refusal to Refund

In November 2012, I applied for a homeloan with Standard Bank through Betterbond and they offered me a Bettersure product as cover (very bad decision). The estimate was that my bond will be registered by February 2013 and that the insurance will only commence then.
I received my policy schedule on the 21 Jan 2013 (Ref Jae Peacock & Greg Sever). By the 29th Jan I had reviewed the Schedule and decided I do not want the policy since Standard Bank was offering a better quote. Jae confirmed on the 30th that my cancellation request has been received.
Altrisk deducted my account in February and refuses to refund me regardless of.
1. My house was not registered at the date (REGISTRATION DATE
Registration Date means the date of registration in the deeds office of the Credit Agreement for which the
benefits arising out of this Policy form security). My house was only registered on 20 March.
2. The policy was cancelled even before Their 30 Day Review Period (Clause 25) (Also look at Commencement of Insurance as Described in the Policy Schedule.
I do not understand why clients should go through this pain, caused by employee arrogance and disregard of the legalities on contracts.
