Garnishing orde

I had an outstanding account from russells, I continuously phoned coombes and associates to get the settlement amount which I received on the 14/11/2012. I paid the full settlement amount the very next day and faxed my proof of payment. I then phoned and confirmed that I am clear. Today the 05/04/2013 I received a garnishing order at my workplace. I phoned Flemix and associates and resent my proof of payment and then confirmed they had received it. I now need to know why I was garnished and how do I get the garnishing removed? I am very upset that this was not cleared up back then as I cannot afford to be garnished as I took out a loan to pay the settlement amount. Please if some one could help sort out this problem.
