I needed money to buy lunch at work. I was at the Sasol garage in Midrand, at FNB ATM, when a guy came to me& grabbed my card out of my hand even before I could put my card in the machine, i was so astonished by what happened that i froze, the guy disappeared. I though, let me stop my card, but he wouldn't be able to draw money since i haven't even put my card in the machine. Before i could even find Capitec bank's number, there were already two transactions of R1500 each drawn from my account at a Nedbank ATM (Le Roux Street) just down the road. I phoned and a lady helped me, she said they would get back to me in 14 days at the latest. I only got a call from them today, but at first when I called I was told to call back tomorrow, about an hour and a half later I got the call. They said that they could not refund any of the money because there is no way my card could have been used without my pin. When I asked her to explain to me how could that could have happened and why can't they refund me although there is proof (cameras) that I were at the Sasol garage when my money was drawn from the Engen garage, she didn't have a good reason, i think this is unacceptable.
