Standard Bank
Bank statements and SMS notifications not reliable

Business & Finance

I transferred R2000 (28/03/2013 @ 23H29) from one of my linked accounts to my current account to meet my debit orders. The account balance prior to this transfer was R2214.60 meaning the balance of the account after the transfer was R4414, 60. I duly received SMS notification that my debit orders (one from Vodacom for R3049.57 and the other from iBurst for R318.00 had gone off from my account on 29/03/2013 leaving a balance of R741.03. This morning, 31 March 2013 I receive an SMS from Standard Bank telling me my debit order for Vodacom has been returned as it was not provided for. Logging into my account, my statement has been rearranged and now my deposit of the 28th is now showing as having gone through on the 30th and the debit order as having gone through on the 28th, yet I have confirmation that my debit order went through on the 29th. A call to the call centre was a waste of time as usual. I have now been charged R115 in Upaid item fees and obviously been listed on credit bureaus yet yet the total of funds available on my group accounts is in excess of R7000.This is on the part of Standard Bank as they are manipulating their bank statements and notifications unfairly.
