Disappointed customer after 25 years

I have been banking with Absa for the past 25 years. I am a silver card holder with a gold credit card (I must say I went back to a silver as you pay extra for a gold and I don't need it) and I have a C2 rating with the bank meaning you are an excellent customer. Never in arrears with anything.
Every couple of months I get calls from the Card Division asking if they can up my credit limit. No questions asked - all done telephonically. How do they know you can afford this if they do not check on your financial position?
I recently requested a small amount from my flexibond. But being a pensioner with a limited income I asked if my son and life long partner could stand surety for me and I was declined I was told that a son cannot stand surety for his mother.
So you tell me who can stand surety then. A stranger.
It's the old saying when you get old no body wants to help you.
I have now applied for a Personal Loan and told you don't need surety.
Now work that one out.
