Paying on time / infact earlier yet reflects badly

I was going through my transunion report, it shows that i am paying my credit card late. I think it is strange that in the last 2 months i am suddenly paying late when for the last year i have been paying on the same date. I call Standard bank to find out why they are reflecting my payments as late when the money is in my account by the 1st of every month and the lady told me that my due date is by the 23rd! Now i mean really how would i know my due date is by the 23rd if this has never been communicated to me. Not only that, my Salary is only paid at the end of every month I would never agree to the 23rd.
I call Standard Bank back to speak to customer services they say that for December I paid on the 27th and the statement closing date was the 27th so the payment reflected in the wrong month. This causing all the months from there to be late even though i am continuosly paying and in my mind on time! This is shocking! I want this revirsed and a positive record on transunion.
