Unauthorised account upgrade

After going through an e-mail process for selecting my new credit card (mine is due to expire soon) and receiving e-mail confirmation of my choice (Gold Card) & informing me that it was due to be delivered by courier.

When the card arrived it contained a Platinum Card (I'd specifically opted not to upgrade due to the increase in charges for the upgraded account). I proceeded to call FNB to rectify the matter. I was passed between the same 2 Departments for 45mins with no luck so I proceeded to send an e-mail (still waiting for a response). I left the matter for a day awaiting response and nothing. I then starting trying to contact again. Again I was passed between Departments until finally someone informed me that a downgrade was taking place BUT that it would take 14 days and during this time I'd have no access to my Credit card.

Firstly no one bothered to contact me and inform me, secondly I do not understand why I need to suffer (I specifically keep extra money in credit card rather than cheque account so now have no funds for 2 weeks) when FNB made the error.

I have lodged a complaint through the complaints line 0875759408 and was promised a ref # via sms - still waiting
