I received a call last year September from Nedbank offering me (another) credit card.
Unfortunately I said ok, and went through the whole process of verifying details.
Soon afterwards I received a sms to inform me that my card is at the branch and I must collect it. I had to arrange for a utility bill that has my physical address on. The card was not there. After 2 or 3 weeks and several annoying sms'es reminding me to collect my card, I went there again, only to hear that the card is not there. 3-4 weeks later, and yes a sms every now and then reminding me to pick up this mystery card, I went there again.
This time I was told that my utility bill is older than 3 months (by 2 days) and that I must get a new bill before they can give me the card. I told the person helping me just to cancel everything as Nedbank is wasting my time.
I received 3 statements to date asking for payments on this card that I never received, and never wanted in the first place. On the statements I have to pay 'service fees'. What service?
Nedbank also phoned me to offer me insurance for this card that I never received.
The call centre's only advice was that I must simply pay the monies owed.
