I have been banking with Standard bank for the past seven years and since last year I ve noticed they provide a service where you can enquire via sms whether you qualify for a loan or not. I sent the enquiry and I was told I can qualify for up to R30 000 and therefore I must visit the nearest branch. I ve visited two branches and the moment i mention the sms they tell me "dont worry about the sms, it doesnt mean anything" and out of curiosity i just want to know why do you even provide that sms facility if it doesnt mean anything??? Is the problem with the management/consultants/inefficient system. Having been a customer for seven years i would expect that the moment i provide my ID no via sms you will be able to determine whether i can afford the loan or not unless ofcourse if you still using the old technology. In store i was told No i dont qualify for the loan and i checked the sms twice to see whether i had misread or something like that, If the sms doesnt mean anything then cancel the service once and for all DONT MISLEAD CUSTOMERS!!! I FEEL LIKE GOING TO OTHER BANKS WITH BETTER SERVICES...
