I recently asked FNB to give me a quote on the home loan I qualify for. I wanted a quote in order to determine what I can expect to get. I was told by FNB home loans that this is not possible without an offer to purchase. I am thus not sure why FNB has these affordability calculators when in reality you don't know what you qualify for until after you apply. Other banks such as standard bank provide this service to their clients. Unfortunately I am a loyal fnb client and thus they to do not provide me with the service. I can't understand why FNB needs an offer to purchase in order to give me a quote.
