Nedbank
3D Secure

Business & Finance

I'm trying to make an online purchase using my Nedbank Mastercard debit card. It's worked without problems at many online stores in the past but now I'm being taken to a page after entering my credit card details which says

"Protect your MasterCard Online
Your MasterCard (R) has been enrolled in MasterCard (R) SecureCode (TM) to help protect against unauthorized use online - at no additional cost.

You will now be asked to authenticate with password.

Please click the "Activate now" button below."

There is only an "Activate now" button and a link to the Terms of use on the page so I cannot complete my purchase without activating this on my card. The Terms of use link takes me to a page with a 404 error, further confirming my distrust of this 3D Secure product.

I phoned the call center at the number printed on my card but they were useless, telling me the card people were not there and I should call back some other time.

How do I disable this 3D Secure rubbish so I can continue using my card without being harassed to sign up for something I do not want every time I make a purchase online.
