Occupational Disability declined

I phoned Outsurance this morning to get a quote for Occupational DIsability. As I am 59 and the website says: "We can provide anyone between the ages of 18 and 60 with disability cover.", I assumed it would be no problem.

I was asked many questions, some relating to my health. I mentioned that I was on medication for both Generalsied Anxiety Disorder and for Oesophageal Reflux.

I was told that this query has to go to the underwriters and I would soon be contacted with the answer.

Half an hour later, a consultant phoned me back and told me that my request had been declined purely on the fact that I was 59. I was assured that it had nothing to do with my health.

I am a little confused as 59 falls between 18 and 60!!!

I suggested that they amend their website so that others are not under the same impression as I was.
