I moved from Johannesburg to Durban at the end of December with Stuttaford Van Lines. My removal was covered by insurance at replacement value. Upon unpacking, I discovered that some of my furniture was damaged and follow the claim procedure as indicated by Stuttaford Van Lines. The insurance company contacted me and offered me half the replacement value, which I turned down as I had insured for full replacement value. A few days later, they offered me the full replacement value in full and final settlement which I accepted and provided them with the acceptance document and details of my bank account. This was on 15th February 2013. I asked for confirmation of when I could expect payment of Megan Young, the claims administrator who handled the claim. I received no response. I have contacted Megan again via mail and via phone and to date, 1 March 2013, I am still awaiting a response and my insurance payment.

I am totally disgusted by the lack of response and the time taken to resolve my insurance claim. Please ensure when using a reputable removal company, that you are advised up front of the insurance and claims administration organisation to avoid inconvenience
