On 7/01/2013 I registered a claim for an house breaking that happened on 23/12/2012 while on holiday.
16 days after I registered the claim an assessor from Bloemfontein was send to me. I live in Klerksdorp.
I did provide him with proof of the items either invoices or photos. Its already 38 days after he saw me ans 66 days after the incident occurred. On Monday a list was send to me on which items will be paid and which not. On the list is jewelry for which I provided photos which ABSA indicated that they will not pay and that they first want to get their own quotations. This had to be done already when the assessor saw me on 23 january 2013. Marlize stander the claims principal is aware of this claim and the amount of time that the assessor already had to finalise this. But still I have to wait for the assessor to do his work properly. Until this morning I did not receive a call from Marlize Stander explaining what is going on not even an apology was given to me why it is taking ABSA so long to settle this. the consumers act make provision that as a consumer they are obligated to keep me informed. This is very bad service from ABSA side.
