First National Bank
Direct marketing spam and lack of security

Business & Finance

I have two complaints about FNB. During the last four days I have received a total of seven phone calls from FNB's direct marketing company. When I answer the phone, there is only dead air: I phoned the numbers back which is how I know they come from FNB's direct marketing contractors. I have had to go as far as to save three separate direct marketing companies so that I can immediately end the calls, which are coming in between two and four times daily. The worst of it is that since nobody is ever at the other end of the line, I'm unable to ask them not to call me anymore.
My second complaint is I have a chip check card. Twice in the last two days, shops have swiped the card through with the magnetic strip instead of the chip. This way, they were able to receive payment without my entering a pin or providing a signature. This is less secure than the old fashioned magnetic strips that at least requested a pin number. This is entirely unacceptable
