Bank Statement printed at home being refused stamp

Good Day

I recently went to ABSA Springs branch to get my bank statement stamped which I printed at home. I needed the statement for Old Mutual in order for them to be able to deposit money into my account.

Whilst at Cape Town, I would go to the Epping Industria, Goodwood and N1 City branches to get them stamped and have never encountered a problem. I use the ABSA internet and to save costs of being charged for requesting the bank statement inside the bank to save costs by printing them myself.

To my disbelief, ABSA Springs refused and I had to speak to the branch manager en at Springs and she emphasised that no ABSA bank does that even though I have been doing this for many years within different branches.

My QUESTION is, doesn"t what applies to the Cape Town branches or even the Dunswart branch which also does this apply to the Springs branch?

One of the key things that ABSA does is to teach its customers to save hence you offer cellphone, telephone and internet banking so that we as customers can have some form of savings.

I"m not prepared to pay for something I can get for free.
