FNB Home Loans Application a JOKE!!

Last week I accessed the FNB website to inquire about applying for a home loan. To my knowledge the Agent did try and get hold of me but only a couple of days later.

This morning I received a call from the Agent to discuss the above mentioned home loan, the time was convenient for me and we began to discuss applying for the home loan.

The first question the Agent asked was if I bank with FNB in which I returned I don't, the Agent then informed me that because of this FNB was unable to provide a loan to me. The main reason being is that they cannot determine my affordability, this is a blatant misinterpretation of the NCA.

All major credit providers supply payment profiles to the CPA in order to assist with complying to the NCA and the fact that the credit provider needs to calculate affordability.

Based on not having one account with FNB they cannot calculate my affordability? Please clarify then why a Consumer provides 3 months worth of bank statements and payslips?

In terms of the NCA I would like a written letter confirming why I was declined a home loan...

The Agent could of crossed sold a FNB current account in order to win the business.
