Recently I complained that FNB had randomly cancelled my cheque card on my husband's account with out any notification. When I then tried to get the card re-issued I was told to come back with my ID book. So the saga continues. I went back with my ID book on Fri 15th, waited 15 mins in a que and reordered my card. I was told it would take 4 days and they would send me an sms. If I wanted access to this account in the interim I would have to pay R68.00 for a temporary card! Still no reason for cancellation. A week later, Fri 22, I had heard nothing so went back to the branch, waited 30 minutes!! and spent 1 hr there. My card order had been cancelled! Apparently this is this was not an error, FNB have restructured and all secondary cards that were originally authorized more than 5 yrs ago have been cancelled!! I was the 3rd person in the branch that morning with this issue. In order to get the card reissued my husband and I both have to come into the branch and re-authorize the card (4th visit). No, I couldn't get a temporary card or cash! So I'm now 2 weeks without access to the account and still no card ordered. Thank goodness for my Standard bank card or my kids would be starving!
