Unlawful change of marital status for pension bfit

I retired from Namdeb Diamond Corporation on 29 July 2001. Prior to retirement all forms were duly completed clearly indicating my marital status as married. The Namdeb Pension Fund (NPF) was at that time administered by Sanlam. Some time later Alexander Forbes were the adminiistrators, followed by Old Mutual, the current administrators. About 2 years ago my wife enquired from Old Mutual as to what her benefits would be upon my passing.away. The reply came back and in formed her that she had no benefits at all. Nothing. Not a cent. I immediately informed a Mr Andries Wahl, who was the link between the pensioners and the NPF. His investigations established that during Alexander Forbes' administration my marital status was erroneously recorded as single. The evidence is shown on every year's Certificate of Existence which clearly shows my marital status as married. Alexander Forbes have admitted that an error occurred, but are now refusing to accept responsibility for paying my wife the due amount of the pension in the event of my passing away.
