BILLED FOR CALLING THEM!!!

I had 2 medicross accounts (dentists and dr). Since I decided to start study again I had a loss off income for some time, so I went to medicross and arrange payments monthly to them. The dr's account is settled now and the dentist is only r400 left. So I got an sms saying I must start making payments on this accounts which I though is weird since I am done with 1 and almost with the other!! So I called the number in the sms and asked the lady what is going on? In which she then informed me that they are a collection agency she can see I paid my accounts but now I have to pay them also, so I asked but why I never even heard from then no letters, emails nothing except for this one sms! And she adviced me yes she phoned my employer one day who adviced her that I am at college doing a year course she can phone me on my cellphone and she then did phone on my cellphone but didn't get an answer (and didn't leave a message) so I asked ok you have my email why didn't you use it? In which she replied "o I didn't think about that"!! So now you expect of me to pay for never speaking to you not getting any letters emails nothing and the best of all I must pay you because I phoned you!!!
