I bank with Standard Bank and I needed to change Nambian dollars to South African Rands which is something that they dont do. I went to Bidvest Bank to change the money and I didnt have proper proof of addr and the consultant kindly refered me to my so called STD bank. I went into the bank and spoke to some called Ravi Rampath who is the floor manager and requested for a CUSTOMER PROFILE or a Confirmation Letter that confirms my Resindential Address and he gave me a statement which didnt have my address after waiting for 30min on the queue. Talk about MOVING BACKWARDS INSTEAD OF MOVING FORWARD!! I then went back to Bidvest Bank and the consultant/floor manager offered to come with me to STD bank and RAVI treated us like beggars. He and his manager (Lucy GRootBoom) told us, how impossible it was to get MY DETAILS and how I'd have to wait for my mail TO GET PROOF OF ADDR. What kind of service is this? I mean what risk does it pose to the business if they provide me with MY INFORMATION? If all banks can provide this letter, why cant they? What kind of a manager tells customers that they have attitude and sits them down again to wait for proof of address only to wait for nothing?
