I have various accounts at Standard Bank. On the 7th February, two of my collegues went to the bank and amongst other things deposited cheques into the various accounts. Yesterday I received several SMS' stating that cheques are 'unpaid as they are post dated'. After looking in the matter this morning, I discovered that the deposit slips stamped the Standard Bank teller was dated the 4th February!! Now my accounts are in a total dissarray, not to mention the charges that will probably be billed that I have to fight to be reversed too!! I promptly visted the branch this morning (after putting all my other important work on hold) and lodged my complaint to the branch manager. She advised she will check with processing department and revert back to me. I demand Standard Bank fix their error and reverse all the incorrect 'unpaid post dated' cheques. I do not have the time to request other cheques from my clients and quiet frankly to explain repeatedly of Standard Bank's tellers mistake! This is totally unecceptable and unprofessional!
