Teller 2 assisted me with a cheques deposit - without confirming if I needed a special clearance on the cheques. When I realised that I am going to have to wait 7 days to clear the cheques, I spoke to the teller who said she is unable to assist. I then went to speak to the Branch Manger who said sorry it is already processed and he cannot do anything to assist. Waiting period is 7 days, even though the teller was suppose to asked the CUSTOMER if he would like a special Clarence on the cheques. It is unacceptable for the branch manager to pull up his shoulders and say he cannot help - why do we have branch managers in a branch if they cannot assist or over write a clearly incorrect process that was followed by the teller his staff member. The cheques is less than R10 000, 00 - if it was a huge amount I can still accept. I really think this is poor customer service - maybe the banks can save money if they get rid of the branch managers as they in this instance don't add any value to customer service.
