Vodacom Deals Nightmare

I applied online for the Vodacom cellphone deal as I am a standard bank customer. I called to enquire regarding the application and I was advised that it would take up to 72 hours. 72 hours later, I still have no feedback. General Banking advised that they do not deal with the mobile deals but gave me an email address that I am supposed to wait another 48 hours to receive feedback from after I send the mail. i have the mail and am awaiting feedback.

why does Vodacom not allocate resources specifically for the mobile deals? are customers expected to sit and wait without any feedback, be it successful or declined? I find this to be unacceptable service. I wonder if any standard bank customer has been successful in attaining this vodacom deal. Or is it false advertising from standard bank to compete in the market?

I am seriously considering changing banks in hopes of better service and turn-around time.
