I was depositing money into the new ATM's which have promise of same time deposit. My money got stuck as I was depositing the new Mandela notes. I immediately went inside the branch where I had to wait for a long time to get a consultant, who ultimately logged my call. I was told the turn around is 7 working day which is insane for a product offer of same time deposit.
I waited for 7 day and on the last hour of the 7 days then the money was deposited from the cash centre and it was R300 short. They said if I want the rest I need to go and get an affidavit, knows how long after that and if I would get the remainder.
The last nail in the coffin was when they further charged me cash deposit fee from the cash centre. This contravenes 2 business rules at Standard bank, first I have 5 free deposits a month, and secondly it wasn't my fault but their device that they had to do a reconciliation and deposit my money. Standard bank is becoming doggier by the day, where is good banking practises and customer service gone to.
