In December I applied for an Elite Gold Cheque account online. I never heard from Standard bank and decided to stay with FNB. In January an agent phoned me to appologise for the late responce. I decided to give them another chance and opened the account telephonicaly. After lots of drama I collected my "Debit Card" which I did not apply for at Northmead Squire. I asked the consultant why it was not a Gold Cheque card as promised. He told me that he had to upgrade the account first and re-order new cards. On the same day we signed to give my husband signing powers on the account. Now two weeks later we have not heard anything. We decided to go to the branch to find out what the holdup is. The helpdesk phoned head office only to find out that the new cards were never ordered after we spent over two hours in the branch previously. When we confronted the consultant he did not have an answer for us and wanted us to sign new documentation to re-order the cards. I dont know why new customers are being treated like this. The branch manager was not available and we requested that the account be closed. This was done very quickly without my signature. Funny???
