My house was totally destroyed by fire on 15 September 2018. Virseker required a quote from me and the also have a contractor to quote. Virseker informed me that my contractor will not be considered and they offered to rebuild my house for an amount 22% less than the replacement cost. I asked for a detailed quote from the contractor to determined what materials and finishing will be used. They refused to supply this quote on the grounds that they need a detail quote from my contractor to compare "apples with apples" and to ensure their contractor did quote correctly. This is after they offered me a settlement already. I refused to supply this quote because they have already decided on the amount. Thus Virseker will not supply details of the quote and I will not concede to building the house without knowing what I will get. They are trying to bully me. It is my right as consumer to know what I will get. In the meantime I am forced to pay my monthly premium although there is nothing on the policy.
