Over 10% repayment of loa

Hi i got a loan of R4000 and last week when i called to check my balance i was told that my total loa amount was R9769.11 and when i asked how could one pay over 100% ot the loan including fees and interest she only said that is whats on the contract and then no other feedback was received thereafter.
