My Uncle who is hard of hearing had the following to say about FNB Athlone Branch.

YOUR MOTTO: HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?
I, Mr KS Walker, ID no 4703245011080 visited FNB Athlone Branch on Tuesday 28th January 2014 for assistance with a query.
I have a hearing disability and being unable to hear, I rely on lip reading or usually ask the person to write down on paper if I am unable to understand what they are saying, and vice versa.
I was assisted by a lady by the name of Gizelle, who was not very accommodating with my request to write down what I could not lip read and she seemed to be irritated by my request. I am highly disappointed in the service that I received on Tuesday and left feeling demoralized as I did not expect such treatment from a well established Financial Institution.
Staff within the banks should be trained and equipped with the necessary skills to handle people with disabilities such as mine so that consultants and other bank staff can provide a better service to us.
My request was therefore not appropriately addressed and I seek redress for a transaction that I believe is.
I hope that the above will be addressed with the parties concerned.
