Increasing banking charges without informing you

I have had an elite plus account for more than 3 years now. all of a sudden i have to find out via my statement that Standard bank has decided to increase their monthly fee (which believe it or not, is reflected on the statement as FIXED SERVICE FEE). I was never informed of this via phone or email, i dont care that its only a R5 increase, its about the fact that the bank can just start deducting money off your account without even informing you, this is a serious issue and I am not happy with this.
