I have purchased a house in 2001 and standard bank provided me the bond to buy this property.
when the evaluator came out to evaluate the house, they granted me the bond, together with a building and structural insurance..since 2004 up to 2014 I am constantly reporting a faulty boundary wall that needs to be repaired by the insurance, because that's what I am paying insurance for.standard bank insurance repeatedly refuse on the grounds of faulty workmanship.i did not build the wall, it was there at the time of purchase, and also why did the standard bank evaluator not pick up the structural damage to the wall in the first place.
1) they are trying to shy away yet they enjoy a full premium payment every month
2) they should have granted the bond and insurance on condition that I fix the wall and exclude the faulty boundry wall before purchase
3) the wall is on the brink of collapse, I will hold both the bank and insurance personally liable if the wall falls and kills one of my family members
4) this is very much similar to a, taking the premium but shying away from claims!!!
