Terrible policy against foreigners & bad attitude

I am a foreign national who has all the work permit and related documents well in order. My work permit expires in Feb 2014. A consultant at FNB earlier told me that I should bring my proof of application of renewal of my work permit to avoid having my account blocked if there are delays by home affairs in processing my permit. Today I took the proof of application to Killarney and I received terrible service.

I was told that my account will be blocked anyway. The consultant went further to tell me that I can go to any bank that I want in my face. She wouldn't listen to the circumstance or even refer to a higher ranking person if the issue was above her grade.

Are your policies so rigid that yo don't consider the circumstance? Do I get punished for delays that happen at home affairs which i have no power over? Do you have a " up to it or leave" policy to foreign nationals? Today really made me consider exploring alternative banking services even though they might cost me more.
