Judgment against me

I had a judgement against me from Nedbank for missing a few payments (I did lose my job -I found another job which paid peanuts but kept me afloat) I tried to keep up with payments but was struggling at the time. Now I have paid off my account in full with costs interest ETC... I am back to earning a decent salary even was pre-approved for a Platinum cheque account oooooo.
However when I wanted to buy a car BANG!!! Sorry you have a judgement against your name. I had to go see a lawyer who now has to go to court to get it removed which could take years and cost a lot of money.
Is there no other way I can get this thing removed from my credit rating so that I can at least by a car???
