Excess value exceeds value of claim

"Make sure that you fully understand the Clauses and Terms & Conditions when taking out Insurance cover." Huge was my shock when I discovered that whilst the initial vehicle damage of the claim was /-R8500.00 as given by the Assurance companies assessor, the excess amounted to nearly R10, 500.00 which I would have had to pay! I decided not to claim through the insurance, but claim back from the third party. After numerous emails and phone calls, requesting the Assessors quote to the Insurer, and a No claim letter, I still have not received any assistance either from the Broker or the Assurer regarding my request. Although they have promised via telephone to provide both the quote and the letter I have not received anything. I definitely will not recommend any of these two companies to anyone.
