Standard bank is by far the worst place to bank. I requested a simple change of debit order account and date. Despite this being done after 5 working days when the promise is 3, i was assured that it had been done. Because the change to so long to happen i had to make a manual payment as no debit order was to be processed in january. Being standard bank i asked the consultant to confirm this manual and no debit odre, Which she did. So i went and made a manual payment only to discover that i have been debited on the old account as well.
After sending proof of payment and proof of debit order, i was told sorry, all your other debit orders will have to bounce and we will penalise youp for that. If you have got a problem withit you can run around to 10 different departments with in standadrbank at your own time and expense to request these charges to be reversed. oh yes, you will be put on ITC as a non payer.
After asking to escalate the matter, i was told there is no one of senior position and there is no complaints department just to show you how much we do not care. Take a pain killer and forget about it.
