I am what you would call furious at this point in time. I work within the financial industry and could forecast my own financial battles in the future. I therefore took the initiative to contact all of my credit providers to negotiate a reduced instalment on my accounts and loan. All of my credit providers where happy to be receiving payment of these amounts, even if they were slightly less. Nedbank took over a month to implement the reduced instalment, however that I can live with. In this process I also changed banks to save money and moved from FNB to Capitec. I informed Nedbank of the change in details and also said to them in the email that the reduced instalment of R960.00 instead of R1830.00 would be in tact (for at least another 2 months according to my phone call with them previously) I wake up this morning with the full instalment debited from my account... so please tell me, what am I supposed to tell my other credit providers? I can't pay them! I would like for this debit to be reversed and the correct agreed amount to be debited of R960.00. I am on the brink of considering debt counselling, which will then reduce the instalment even further based on my affordability.
