Standard bank refuses to assist with a debit orde

My wife has a study loan with standard bank, in dec 2013, my wife went into the north gate branch to organize for monthly debit orders of R1500 to go off from the 1st of January and on the first of every month thereafter. It would seem the consultant organized for the debit order to go off daily from the 18 th December until there was no money in the account, we went back to the branch to lodge a complained and we were told that because this was a loan payment, nothing could be done help us. I then contacted standard bank on the 2nd of jan 2014 via their official twitter account, they promised to investigate and let us know, we haven't heard from them since.
