Insurance claim - worst service eve

I submitted an insurance claim on 25 Nov 2013 to repair my gate motor and pool pump - lightning strike. Standard Bank's insurance division then sent me a nice sms thanking me for registering the claim. Their sub-contractor contacted me and subsequently cancelled 2 separate appointments before making good on his promise on the 3rd appointment - 2 weeks later! They arrived and fixed my gate motor and said another company would come to fix the pool pump. They then demanded payment of the excess into their bank account. I have not paid a single cent because I am still waiting for my pool pump to be fixed - 2 months later!

I contacted their call centre mid-December to follow up (waited half an hour) and also laid a complaint on the website. Alas - to no avail. No one has even bothered to call me back. What a joke! Possibly the worst insurance provider ever. Outsurance would have sorted this out in 48 hours, I know this to be true, they are my short-term insurer.

Thanks Standard Bank for ruining my summer with a green pool that I tried to keep so nice and clean for summer time. Please don't make the mistake of joining these clowns because it really is a circus at Standard Bank...
