Pathetic insurance for phones and service!!!

Phone got lost after husband fell in pond with cell phone in pocket. Claimed with Outsurance and the following ensued:
Phone was insured for R 9000, when we claimed they said that they will only pay out "replacement value" and not the R 9000, and that it was our responsibility to phone every month to reduce our monthly payment for the phone. We thought ok well we can get one of our friends form the US to bring me one when they returned home next week and pay with the money paid out by Outsurance. But no Outsurance said they will replace the phone. When we contacted the company that would send us the new phone they said there is no iphone 5 available and that they have been discontinued. This was communicated to Outsurance!!! No we didn't get the phone at the much more affordable price from the US and we are supposed to get quotes to replace the phone!!!

Please tell me why this is our issue when you didn't want to pay out the money and replace the phone? This should be your job not the clients!

No need to say we are looking at other companies to move our insurance.
