We submitted a claim on 29 November 2013 for hail damage to our electrified fence and roof.
Assessors and contractors were appointed, but it took them more than 2 weeks to visit our property.
It is now 5 weeks after the incident and all that has been done is to have damaged gate motor covers replaced. The contractor sent to assess the damage to our electrified fence says they are not approved by ABSA to fix the fence. Why send them to us if they can't fix it?
We have tried on a daily basis (twice to three times a day) to get hold of the claims department, spending hundreds of Rands on cell phone calls, all to no avail. We have been holding on for over an hour at a time, but never get through to anybody.
The damaged fence is a security issue and the the damaged roof is leaking, causing damage to the interior of the house.
This is shocking service as this is the first time that we are claiming on this policy since its inception in January 1998.
