Worst bank in South Africa

I went to the UK on July 2013 and as I was there for a few months, I had to open a bank account. The best option as per all the Absa advertisements found on TV was to join Barclays bank because apparently they are linked up with Absa in South Africa and make getting your international money "so easy" to recieve.

Bull.

I went to the Absa Bank in Somerset West Mall and the teller told me that I had to go to a Barclays Bank in Cape Town City Center in order to get my money. Only to find later that there IS NO BArclays Bank in SA! Then i go to Absa in main rd somerset west and after being sent backwards and forwards from teller to customer care to the branch manager i got told that i have to phone Barclays ON MY OWN COST to get my PIN again. I called Barkleys UK inside the bank on my cellphone as NO phones inside could call Barclays main branch in the UK. what the?? You are meant to be linked, clearly you should have CUSTOMER SUPPORT for these international customers! After almost getting thrown out the bank for using my cellphone the teller still didnt help after speaking to Barclays from my phone. ABSOLUTELY USELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE. You should unlink cause Absa is pathetic!
