I had to register a claim at Absa Insurance for damage incurred during a thunderstorm on 25 October.6 weeks later, since receiving my 1st communication via sms on 5 November, my claim has not been resolved and I have not received any feedback from Absa Insurance on the outcome of my claim.
Since 5 November, I as the customer had to make numerous phone calls and had to send numerous emails to Absa Insurance to track progress but have been told that either "They are still waiting for a final report OR that I need to speak to the assessor". Up until 19 November I was told that the report is still outstanding although the contractor that was responsible for the original assesment and replacement of the garage door motor was in the possession of the claim approval dated 12 November. Due to the safety and security risk and long response time I had to pay for the replacement of the motor from my own pocket - value is R3850. I have informed Absa Insurance on Tuesday that I do expect for this issue to be resolved by close of business today. As expected, I have not received any feedback still.
