On 10th Dec 2013, I swiped my card at a STD bnk paypoint for R 500. I was told it was declined. I swiped my card again for R 500. I was told it was declined. I then drew R 500 cash at the nearest ATM. When I checked my bank statement same day. I saw that both R 500 swipes in fact went through. That is R 1000 erroneously and taken out of my account. I immediately phoned STD Bank and reported it. I asked them to reverse it. I was told, they would first investigate. While on the phone, the lady went into my bank account, and said she could see the erroneous debits. I told them I need the money. They said they'll escalate it. After a few phone calls from my side, and everytime Std bnk says, they will escalate it, no one calling me back for 8 days, and still no reversal. Now, I get a phone call, on even date, to say, they will escalate it. If I see any unauthorised activity, on my work bnk acc, I call my relationship manager and the transaction is reversed immediately. I don't accept a turnaround of 12 days or more. it is my money. Taking out of my account. This is. Reverse the transaction! I am definitely closing my account!
